All of them — it is not limited to particular passports, which is the thing travellers most often get wrong. The one condition is that your trip includes a Sahara experience. A trip that stays in the north — Algiers, Constantine, Oran — goes through the standard embassy visa instead.
No, and we would rather you did not. To apply we need your travel dates and the trip you have chosen with us — not a paid ticket, and you do not pay for the tour yet either. The only payment at this stage is the €40 application fee, waived for groups of more than 10. Once your visa has been issued, book your flights and confirm your tour.
There are two routes and we handle both. For the Sahara Visa-on-Arrival we apply on your behalf through the Algerian Ministry of Tourism: you fill in the form we send you by hand and pay the €40 fee, and you show the authorisation when you land. For a trip without the Sahara you apply at an Algerian embassy or consulate, and we give you an invitation letter with your stamped itinerary and a QR code to present with it — €20 per person, non-refundable, free for groups of more than 6 travellers. The two routes differ in how much of your trip has to be booked with us — see below.
We have not had an application refused. That is our record rather than a promise — the decision is the Algerian authorities' to make, not ours. If a Sahara Visa-on-Arrival application were ever refused, you would get your money back in full.
It depends on the route. For the Sahara Visa-on-Arrival, which we apply for on your behalf, the application is made against a complete itinerary — so your whole trip has to be with us, from the moment you land to the moment you fly home. The invitation letter is more flexible: you can book part of your trip with us, half of it for example, and arrange the rest of your time in Algeria yourself.
Not if you cancel. It is an administrative fee for work already done on your application, so it is not refunded if you change your plans, whatever the reason. A refusal is different: if the visa itself is refused, you get your money back in full. We say both before you pay rather than afterwards.
At least 15 days before you arrive — that is the minimum for the Sahara Visa-on-Arrival — and earlier still in high season, when issuing slows down. Leaving it late is the one thing that turns a straightforward application into an anxious one.
Our guidance is, for everyone. Making a Sahara Visa-on-Arrival application costs €40 per person, and that fee is waived for groups of more than 10 travellers. The stamp tax paid at the airport on arrival is separate and is not ours to waive. For the embassy route, the invitation letter is €20 per person, non-refundable, free for groups of more than 6 travellers.
